My first woodblock print ever! Rain and I attended a woodblock printing workshop today from the Grand Rapids Art Museum. I love the old-world style of wood block prints and knew immediately I wanted to feature children's shoes. I love shoes as the subject of artwork; they just seem to tell a story. (Or maybe I'm just thinking about shoes because we watched Die Hard this Christmas.)
The wood was tricky to cut at first, but after you get the hang of it, it's quite satisfying!
