He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not

Writer's picture: Terra TarangoTerra Tarango

I love how linocut printing allows you to play with negative and positive space and also to see how color changes the mood of a piece. This simple flower in black feels elegant and moody, while in yellow it feels bright and fun. Either way, it reminds me of putting the fate of childhood crushes to the petal gods.

Would anyone else just keep picking more flowers until the petal gods finally granted a final "he loves me" petal?

There have been times, more than once, that I looked for that elusive last pedal to tell me what I wanted to hear. Sometimes we all can be more whimsical than we would like to admit, methinks.
